Ecosperity YLD is organised by STEP (Singapore Technologies Endowment Programme) in partnership with Centre for Business Sustainability at Nanyang Business School (CBS@NBS), Nanyang Technological University. YLD is a parallel student track organised under the broad umbrella of Ecosperity, to provide a platform to connect youth leaders of tomorrow with industry experts to discuss and discover latest issues and solutions on sustainable living. Ecosperity is an annual conference organized by Temasek, who is also a sponsor of the YLD event.
The Ecosperity 2017 theme is “Tomorrow Starts Today! – Securing our Sustainable Future in Asia”. The theme of business sustainability seeks to showcase the business perspective in managing sustainability issues, and how businesses transform their practices to promote sustainability.
The youths are our future leaders, and shoulder the responsibility of building a brighter future for the world. The Ecosperity YLD 2017 is beneficial to promote mutual trust and friendship among our youths, over and above widening their worldview on important issues that the world is facing today.
Participants will come together to learn and discuss issues surrounding the larger themes of “Climate Change and Business Sustainability”, “Sustainable Sourcing” and “Urban Sustainability – Metropolitan Cities in Focus”, to name a few. Participants will also be immersed in networking opportunities with key thought leaders and business leaders around the region at the Ecosperity conference. To maximise participants’ learning, they will also be engaged in a United Nations Sustainability Development Goals Presentation Challenge and site visit at the event.
YLD 2017 is a fully-sponsored five-day event, participated by more than 130 youth leaders from Singapore and Asia. Local logistics such as accommodation, ground transfers, meals, training and workshops will be borned by organisers, and air fares will be reimbursed based on a cap amount to participants.
