UGM MUN Community had sent two delegations in Universitas Islam Indonesia Model United Nations (UII MUN) 2018 and Makassar MUN 2018. The former was held in CakraKembang Hotel, Yogyakarta from April13th to 15th by UII MUN Association. The conference consisted of two councils; United Nations Security Council and United Nations Human Rights Council.
Lazarus Andja (International Relations 2017) and Kayla Adisa (International Relations 2017) have won Best Delegate award in UNSC with the topic of “2020: The Fate of the Holy City”. Sean Levin (Economics 2017) also managed to snatch the Verbal Commendation in this council. MaurizkaCallista (International Relations 2017) also succeeded in getting the Best Position Paper in UNHRC. Approximately, there were 75 delegates who attended the event from several universities in the region. Thus, the delegation of UGM MUN Community thrived in snatching awards in both chambers of UII MUN 2018.
Along with UII MUN, Makassar MUN was held from April 12th to 15th 2018 in the city of Makassar. This MUN consisted of four councils; Disarmament and International Security, World Health Organization, United Nations Human Rights Council, and Crisis Committee. UGM student from UGM MUN Community, SakhinaPutriAnjani (International Relations 2016), managed to snatch the Most Outstanding Delegate award in UNHRC with the theme of “Private Military Corporations in Conflicts and War”. Makassar MUN is the biggest annual conference in Eastern Indonesia. This year was their eight time since the first edition of Makassar MUN in 2011.
